"Suffering under the weight of its own expectations" - alas, the plight of any Hollywood big budget film these days. Clearly, Speed Racer's first week numbers (regardless of the disputed final tally) were surprisingly low, and indeed that movie is a definite flop. I'm not ready to say Caspian has underperformed. its up against the likely #1 movie of the year (Ironman) still making 31 mill in its third week. It think Caspian will do fine and 56 mill the first week is a solid figure. for a movie like that, I think anything under 50 mill would have been a disaster. Also, I think Iron Man will hit 300 mill domestic (assuming it stays in theaters another 7-8 weeks). My two cents. Keep up the great work. Tim, Boston, MA
